SPOT for iPhone

The iPhone app saves Google Place IDs on your device so you can revisit saved places. Unsave a place to remove its ID. Venue details are refreshed from SPOT’s service. Optional location access is used only on your iPhone to sort nearby results; the app does not send your precise location to SPOT. City and category selections are sent to our service to find matching venues.

Event and group-planning features open SPOT’s website in an in-app browser. The browser features described below apply when you use these pages. Saved places in the iPhone app are separate from saved places in your browser.

Personal iPhone itineraries

The native Plan tab stores your plan names, dates, stop labels, Place IDs, estimated durations, personal notes and visited status on your iPhone. These plans are not uploaded to SPOT. Delete a plan in the app to remove it. Sharing an itinerary opens the iOS share sheet; the recipient and service you choose receive the itinerary text. Your device backups may include this local data according to your Apple settings.

Advertising and purchases

The iPhone app uses Google AdMob to display advertising banners in Explore and Google’s User Messaging Platform to manage applicable consent choices. We request non-personalized ads and disable publisher first-party ID. We do not request permission to access the advertising identifier or send your precise location, personal itineraries or notes to advertisers. Google’s advertising SDK may collect IP addresses (which can estimate general location), device and app information or identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic/performance information for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Non-personalized ads still involve data processing. Where available, review or change your ad privacy choices in More → Remove Ads → Ad privacy choices. If consent or an ad is unavailable, the app’s discovery and planning features remain usable.

Remove Ads is an optional one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple StoreKit. Apple handles your payment information; SPOT does not receive your card details. The app checks Apple-verified purchase entitlement information to remove banners and restore the purchase. Purchases do not unlock additional planning features, and there is no subscription. Use Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account on another device.

Website and planning

SPOT uses an anonymous cookie to associate saved Place IDs, plans, and responses with this browser. Location is requested only when you choose Near Me and is used in your browser to sort results. SPOT does not store your precise location.

Who’s in? stores the first name, plan title, chosen place or event, date, and responses you submit. Anyone with the invite link can see these details. Use first names and avoid sensitive information. Names are self-reported. Plans and responses remain stored after cancellation; cancelling closes voting. Clearing cookies removes your ability to manage your previous plan or response from that browser.

Google Maps supplies venue information and photos. Requests and image loads may transmit your IP address and technical request information to Google and our hosting providers.

Google Privacy Policy

To remove saved places, unsave them before clearing your browser cookies.

For privacy questions or a request to remove a shared plan or response, contact stevelang87@gmail.com. Include the plan link and enough information to identify your request. Do not send passwords or sensitive personal information.

Content reports and blocks

Blocking stores a relationship between browser identifiers, the displayed name of the blocked person, and the time of the block. It hides responses between those identities and prevents access to each other’s hosted plans. Clearing cookies or using a new browser creates a different identity. Unblock people through Support in the same browser.

Content reports open your email app. Sending a report shares your email address and the report details with SPOT support. Include only the details needed to investigate. Contact support to request removal of reports or blocked-person records.
